Cobie Smulders Says Her Avengers Costumes Are “Absolutely Something I’d Wear in Real Life”

Cobie Smulders may not play a superhero in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but she does still have a kick-ass wardrobe in the film. And at The Cinema Society and Audi’s screening of the movie in New York City last night, the actress revealed that her costumes are definitely different this time around.

The reason? Her character, Maria Hill, no longer has a job at S.H.I.E.L.D., but rather takes up a new gig working for Iron Man himself, Tony Stark. “It was a lot of lady suits—it was nice,” Smulders shares. “Because I work for Tony Stark in this movie, it was a lot of pretty and stylish business outfits rather than a uniform. The clothes are absolutely something I’d wear in real life.”

And as far as getting in shape for the film, Smudlers took that seriously: “I did a lot of running and a lot of weight lifting,” she shares. “I was working out multiple times a week—usually four to five times pretty intensely.”

Catch Avengers: Age of Ultron when it hits theaters everywhere this Friday, May 1.
