How to Embrace the Boho Trend When You Have a Bigger Bust

By: Elyse Maloni

At the beginning of the season, the ’70s-style maxi dress was at the top of my spring wish list. This perfect dress would ideally have long sleeves, be looser in fit, and possibly possess an ethereal quality. But most importantly, it would embody the bohemian spirit that would make Penny Lane herself proud.

But I checked myself with reality: I remembered I couldn’t realistically wear this style, because of my D cup-size bust. Peasant necklines and slouchy silhouettes make me look more sloppy than their intended free-spirited aesthetic—all the while adding about 15 pounds to my frame. Refusing to accept this, I armed myself with the mission to find flattering options that actually work with bigger chests. The result? Success.
